Mixoloco - Mixology Tips:

  • Choosing Scotch Whisky: Selecting the right Scotch whisky is essential for a well-balanced Rob Roy. Opt for a whisky with a smooth and complex flavor profile that complements the sweetness of the vermouth.

  • Vermouth Selection: Experiment with different vermouth brands and styles to find the perfect match for your Rob Roy. Some prefer a sweeter vermouth for a richer flavor, while others prefer a drier vermouth for a more balanced cocktail.

  • Stirring Technique: Properly stirring the Rob Roy is crucial for achieving the ideal temperature and dilution without overmixing the drink. Aim for a gentle and controlled stirring motion to blend the ingredients seamlessly.

  • Garnish Consideration: While the classic garnish for the Rob Roy is a maraschino cherry or a lemon twist, feel free to experiment with other garnish options, such as orange peel or a sprig of fresh thyme, to add a unique touch to your cocktail.
