Mixoloco - Mixology Tips:

  • Choosing Rye Whiskey: When selecting rye whiskey for your Sazerac, opt for a quality brand with robust flavors that can stand up to the other ingredients in the cocktail.

  • Absinthe Rinse Technique: The absinthe rinse is a crucial step in the Sazerac recipe, as it adds depth and complexity to the cocktail. However, be mindful not to overdo it, as absinthe can easily overpower the drink.

  • Sugar Cube Dissolving: Properly muddling the sugar cube with bitters ensures even distribution of sweetness throughout the cocktail.

  • Chilling Technique: Stirring the cocktail with ice is essential for achieving the perfect temperature and dilution. Aim for a slow and steady stir to properly chill the ingredients without over-diluting.
